Guidelines for Proper Usage of TNS Products
As we use only the finest natural ingredients known to us and minimal preservatives in our natural and naturopathic preparations, we offer the following guidelines to help maintain the freshness and efficacy of our unique formulations for as long as possible:
SUGGESTED USE-BY SCHEDULE
Most TNS products have a shelf-life of three years from the date of purchase if unopened and 12 months if opened.
For product specific information, each product now has an “open jar” symbol on its packaging/label, which indicates how long in months we (guided by the European Cosmetics Directive) recommend the product be used for after it is opened. For example, if it says “12M” within the open jar symbol, then we suggest the product is used for 12 months after opening.
In general, it is a good idea to refrigerate products to maximise their lifespan.
CLIMATE CONTROL
Products should not be exposed to extreme heat or cold temperature changes, and should be kept out of direct sunlight. Products should be kept in a cool, dry place. On the bench in the bathroom (with heat and steam) is not usually an ideal location for product storage, because the temperature and humidity levels there change frequently. The bathroom cabinet or cupboard is better than being out in the open on the bench.
HANDLING
We recommend the use of sterile, disposable plastic spatulas or swabs with all creams packaged in jars. Avoid using your fingers to remove product from the jar as this will decrease the potential introduction of bacteria from the fingertips into the product.
POST-USAGE
Please be sure to close lids tightly on all jars and remove any residue from the spouts on bottles directly after each use. Bottle tops should be fully closed when storing between applications.
PRODUCT VARIATION
Because we use many natural ingredients in our unique formulations, our products may vary in colour and consistency with each new batch that we make. These natural variations do not in any way affect the quality or efficacy of the product.
