While this fungus is found on everybody’s skin and scalp, it especially thrives when a person’s scalp is oily (or produces high levels of sebum). The main active ingredient in this shampoo is zinc pyrithione in serum strength concentration, as it acts as an an effective anti-fungal agent that helps regulate sebum production and therefore makes the scalp less prone to fungal growth. This also eliminates or minimises flaking.

Wet hair with tepid water, lather throughout hair and massage into scalp firmly. Avoid scratching the scalp as this can scar or damage the hair at its root and make the scalp extra sensitive to infection. Be sure to rinse thoroughly under running water. Repeat as necessary. When trying to manage dandruff, be mindful of the following factors which may irritate the scalp and therefore worsen the condition: excessive use of hair sprays and gels, use of hair-dryer, curlers or straightening irons, cold weather and dry indoor heating.
